CGHS rate revision 2025: The fortunes of central government employees and pensioners have brightened. After a long wait, the central government has now made a major change in the treatment rates under the Employees’ Health Scheme. This change will directly impact millions of central government employees, pensioners, and their dependents. This will improve the quality of treatment and ensure transparency.
The new treatment rates have come into effect from today. Employees and pensioners will benefit from this. According to the government, the rates for approximately 2,000 medical procedures will now be determined based on the city’s category and hospital accreditation.
Rates in Tier-II cities will be 19 per cent lower than the base rate, and in Tier-III cities, rates will be up to 20 per cent lower. Furthermore, base rates will be implemented in NABH-accredited hospitals. Rates in non-NABH hospitals will be 1 per cent lower than the base rate. This change will prove to be a booster dose.
