Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed that the Fastag-based annual pass of ₹ 3,000 is being introduced from August 15, 2025. This pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or till the completion of 200 trips, whichever is earlier. He has clarified that this pass is for private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. For this, a dedicated link will soon be issued on the websites of NHAI and MoRTH, from where people will be able to get their pass.
Will it work with the satellite toll system as well
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said many times that the satellite-based toll system is going to be implemented soon. In such a situation, the question in the minds of the people is how will this annual pass of Fastag work after its launch. Nothing will change in it.
The satellite will count how many times you have travelled, after which this number will keep getting added to your Fastag pass. As soon as your 200 trips are completed, after that you will have to renew it again or you can also get it recharged. That is, despite the new technology, your annual pass will remain fully functional.
When is the satellite toll system being implemented
It has not yet been announced when the satellite-based toll system is being implemented. However, it can be implemented across the country soon.
