New Aadhaar App: The central government is continuously taking new steps towards strengthening India’s digital footprint. Under the Digital India campaign, special emphasis is being placed on making citizen services easy, fast, and secure. In this regard, the government has launched the new Aadhaar app, which allows citizens to display, share, and verify their digital identity via mobile.
The new Aadhaar app has been developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Citizens will no longer need to carry a physical Aadhaar card or a photocopy. The app features QR code-based verification, allowing secure identity sharing with hotels, airports, banks, or any service provider. Users can share only limited information as needed, ensuring privacy.
Key amenities for citizens
The new Aadhaar app has been updated with several features that make it even more user-friendly. It allows for the addition of profiles for up to five family members on a single mobile device. The app also allows for instant verification of any Aadhaar number, including address updates, mobile number updates, and sharing of Aadhaar contact cards. This app also makes identity verification faster and more reliable during digital payments and other digital services.
Digital India will get a new boost
The government believes that the new Aadhaar app will further strengthen the digital public infrastructure. It will prevent fraudulent documents and bring transparency to the delivery of services. This app will be especially useful for people who travel frequently or require frequent identity verification. This new version of the Aadhaar app will play a key role in advancing the vision of Digital India and empowering citizens
