Big news for crores of employed people! 7.5 crore members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will receive great news. The central government is planning to increase the auto settlement limit for PF withdrawals from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh. According to an ANI report, Ms. Sumita Dawra from the Ministry of Employment has approved the proposal, and it will be announced soon.
Details of the Proposal
According to sources, Sumita Dawra, Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, approved the proposal to increase the PF withdrawal limit from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh in the 113th meeting of the Executive Committee (EC) of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) last week. This change will improve the ease of living for crores of EPFO members.

The meeting was held on March 28 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, and was attended by EPFO Central Provident Fund Commissioner Ramesh Krishnamurthy. The recommendation will now go to the CBT for final approval.

PF Withdrawal via UPI and ATM
By the end of May or early June 2025, EPFO members will be able to withdraw their PF money without delay. Employees will soon be able to check their PF balance and withdraw money directly through UPI or ATM. Sumita Dawra, Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, recently confirmed that employees will be allowed to withdraw up to ₹1 lakh immediately.
