The administration has issued important guidelines for job card holders in the 100-day work project in the state. It is learned that the process of linking Aadhaar with job card and verification through face recognition (Face Authentication / Job Card Verification) has already started in West Bengal.

The administration has informed that if this process is not completed within the stipulated time, the job cards of many people may be cancelled. The government guidelines clearly state that every person and family member on the 100-day work list will have to link Aadhaar offline. The purpose of this linking is mainly two-

1. To verify whether the names of those on the job card are really alive or not.
2. To update the project list by excluding the names of those who have died or gone elsewhere.

According to the administration, this initiative will make the benefits reach the real workers more transparent and the cases of fake job cards or fake wages will be reduced to a great extent.

How will this linking be done?

The entire process is not online, but completely offline. You have to go to the booth office under each gram panchayat and link this Aadhaar-job card. This work will be done by the support staff or operators present at the booth office.

The most important thing is that all family members must be present. Because everyone’s identity will be verified through facial recognition. That is why both the Aadhaar card and job card documents must be carried with them.

Awareness campaign started in rural areas:

Many people in rural areas are still not aware of this new rule. Therefore, the administration has taken the initiative to raise awareness among the people through miking, pamphlets and local meetings. According to the concerned department, if the specified time limit is exceeded, the job cards of those whose information is not verified may be temporarily suspended or may be permanently cancelled.

Meanwhile, sources say that the 100-day work may start soon. Due to this, the importance of Aadhaar linking has increased even more. If the verification is not completed on time, the workers may face problems in getting work in the project or getting wages.

Administration’s warning message:

Administration requests those who have not yet linked their Aadhaar to quickly go to the booth office and complete the process. Because no excuse will be accepted after the deadline.
