After the victory of the BJP in the Delhi Assembly elections this year, an important step has been taken towards women empowerment. The BJP government has announced the ambitious “Mahila Samman Samridhi Yojana” on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The main objective of this scheme is to empower the women of Delhi economically, under which they will be provided financial assistance of ₹ 2500.

The government has allocated a budget of ₹ 5100 crore for this scheme. Know what is required

To avail of the Delhi Mahila Samman Samridhi Yojana, you have to submit some important documents. The first and mandatory condition is that you must be a resident of Delhi. The following documents will be required as proof of this:

Aadhar Card

Voter ID card

Residence certificate

Additionally, some other documents will also be required to ensure eligibility under the scheme:

This will certify that your family’s annual income is less than ₹3 lakh. This scheme targets economically weaker women, so the income certificate is an important document.

Women from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category will be given priority in this scheme, so the BPL ration card will be necessary.

These women will not be able to take advantage

The scheme aims to assist economically weaker women. Therefore, certain criteria have been set based on which women will be considered ineligible for this scheme:

Women who are employed in government jobs will not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme.

Women who pay income tax to the government will also not be eligible for this scheme.

If the annual income of a woman’s family is more than ₹3 lakh, then she will not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme.

The age of the woman should be between 18 years to 60 years.

How to apply for Delhi Mahila Samridhi Yojana

The Delhi government is going to develop an online portal to apply in this scheme. Interested women will be able to easily register themselves on this portal. After registration, all the applications will be verified. The documents mentioned above will be required while applying, which you may have to upload online. Lakhs of women living in Delhi are expected to benefit from this scheme. The official announcement of the launch of the portal and the start of the application process is awaited.
