LPG Cylinder Booking – Why is LPG Cylinder OTP Not Coming? Check DND Settings, Network & SMS Inbox
Gas Cylinder Booking: The government has formulated new rules to prevent LPG shortages. Does your cylinder booking get stalled if you do not receive an OTP—or if it arrives late—at the time of booking? Let’s find out more about this.
Lpg Cylinder Booking Otp Delay
Gas Cylinder Booking: The country is currently experiencing an LPG shortage. Ever since gas cylinder prices increased, the general public has been feeling the impact. For the past few days, news regarding gas cylinders has been a constant topic of discussion across social media and news circles. Many users have complained that when booking a cylinder, receiving the OTP takes an excessively long time—or the OTP fails to arrive altogether—stalling their booking process. However, this issue is not always the gas company’s fault; in fact, your mobile phone’s settings are often the culprit.
Check Your Network Connection
A weak mobile network is a common reason for not receiving an OTP. If you reside in an area with poor signal strength, the OTP may arrive late or fail to deliver. Additionally, messages can sometimes get stuck due to heavy load on the server. In such situations, you should toggle your mobile phone’s ‘Aeroplane Mode’ on, then off again, to refresh the network connection. Doing so should immediately restore network connectivity to your mobile phone.
DND Settings
On many smartphones, enabling the ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) feature automatically blocks incoming calls and SMS messages. Consequently, the OTP may fail to reach your inbox. If you are not receiving an OTP while attempting to book a gas cylinder, navigate to your phone’s settings and immediately disable DND mode.
Full SMS Inbox
It often happens that your phone’s message inbox is full, preventing new SMS messages from being received. As a result, the OTP message may fail to deliver or simply not appear. Therefore, you should delete old messages to free up space in your SMS inbox.
LPG Company Server Downtime
When a large number of people attempt to book cylinders simultaneously, or when the server experiences a technical glitch, the OTP-sending process may be interrupted.
What Are the Current Rules for Cylinder Booking?
The government has established a new timeframe for booking gas cylinders. If you reside in an urban area, you can book a second cylinder only after a minimum waiting period of 25 days following the delivery of your previous cylinder. If you reside in a rural area, you can place a subsequent booking only after 45 days have elapsed since receiving your last cylinder.
No Cylinder Delivery Without an OTP
To curb the black marketing of domestic LPG cylinders, the government has made OTP-based delivery mandatory. Under this system, once you book a gas cylinder, a code is sent to your registered mobile number, which you must provide to the delivery agent upon delivery.
