Lok Adalat Registration: If you have an old traffic challan that you wish to get quashed, now is a fantastic chance. On May 9, 2026, a National Lok Adalat will take place in all district courts across Delhi. The aim is to swiftly and easily resolve minor cases. Here, you can either have your challan reduced or completely quashed. Let’s discover where the Lok Adalat will be located and how to register for it.

These Lok Adalats will be conducted at Karkardooma, Saket, Patiala House, Rouse Avenue, Dwarka, Rohini, and Tis Hazari courts. They will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here, you can have your old challans waived or settled with a reduced fine.

How to register?

Before attending the Lok Adalat, registration is necessary. Without registering, your challan cannot be settled. Registration started on May 4, 2026, and will be open until May 7, 2026. You can secure your token by visiting the Delhi Traffic Police website at https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/lokadalat. A limited number of tokens are available each day, so it’s crucial to apply early.

Important things to remember

Once registered, you will receive a token number and an appointment letter. It’s essential to print this out as it will be required in court. Additionally, download a copy of your challan and keep it handy. Make sure to arrive at the court at your designated time so that your case can be heard promptly.

How will the challan be settled?

The judge at the Lok Adalat will examine your case and make a ruling. If the case is minor, the fine may be reduced or even waived entirely. If you are required to pay a fine, it must be paid at the counter. After this, your challan will be removed from the system. Please note that only challans pending until January 31, 2026, will be settled this time.

Which cases will be settled?

Lok Adalats only handle minor traffic offenses, such as riding without a helmet, not using a seatbelt, speeding, running red lights, or improper parking. Serious offenses, like drunk driving, hit-and-runs, or major accidents, are not included.
