LIC Share Price: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) shares performed well in the stock market on November 7th. LIC’s profit increased by 32% in the second quarter
The company announced its results for the second quarter (Q2) of the financial year 2026 on November 6th. In its report, LIC reported a standalone net profit of ₹10,053.39 crore, an increase of approximately 32 percent compared to ₹7,620.86 crore in the same period last year.
These results reflect LIC’s business growth and strong market performance. The company’s steadily improving financial position has further boosted investor confidence.
Brokerage firms increase confidence in LIC
Following LIC’s excellent quarterly performance, several brokerage firms have raised their ratings and target prices on its stock. Domestic brokerage firm JM Financial has given a ‘BUY’ rating to the stock and set a target price of ₹1,111. This implies a potential upside of approximately 24 percent from current levels.
Motilal Oswal has also maintained a ‘BUY’ rating on LIC, with a target price of ₹1,080. HDFC Securities has also maintained an ‘ADD’ rating on LIC, with a target price of ₹1,065.
Bernstein has a ‘Market-Perform’ rating on the stock with a target price of ₹1,070, while Emkay Global has an ‘ADD’ rating with a target price of ₹1,100 per share.
LIC’s stock is still below its record high
LIC shares were listed in 2022 at ₹872 per share. In the initial months after listing, the stock declined and reached ₹530. Subsequently, the company’s performance and market confidence propelled LIC to new heights.
LIC’s stock reached an all-time high of ₹1,222 in August last year. However, its current price is ₹924.15, down nearly 25 percent from its record high.

What’s the way forward for investors?
Analysts believe that LIC’s growth story is far from over. Strong financial performance, steadily increasing insurance penetration, and government confidence could lead to further gains in the stock in the coming months.
