Another important update for EPFO members. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has just made things a lot easier for workers. They’ve pushed back the deadline for activating the Universal Account Number (UAN) and linking your bank account with Aadhaar to March 15, 2025. Just a heads up, activating your UAN and linking it to your bank account is essential if you want to take advantage of EPFO’s Employment Linked Incentive Scheme (ELI). This deadline has been extended multiple times, with the previous cutoff being February 15, 2025.
So, what exactly is the Universal Account Number (UAN)? It’s a 12-digit number that helps you manage your Provident Fund (PF) accounts. It gives employees a single platform to track, access, and simplify their PF financial transactions.
Once your UAN is activated, you can use EPFO’s online services. This means you can check your PF account details, download your passbook, and even apply online for withdrawals, advances, or transfers. Plus, you can update your personal info and check the status of your claims right away.
Want to activate your EPF UAN using Aadhaar? It’s super simple! Just follow these steps to get all the digital services from EPFO:
Step 1: Go to the EPFO member portal.
Step 2: Click on the “Activate UAN” link in the “Important Links” section.
Step 3: Fill in your UAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, and the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
Step 4: Make sure your mobile number is connected to your Aadhaar so you can access all the online services.
Step 5: Agree to the Aadhaar OTP verification.
Step 6: Hit “Get Authorization PIN” to receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile.
Step 7: Enter the OTP and finish the activation process.
Once UAN is successfully activated, the password will be sent to your registered mobile number.
