Ration Card: There is a mega update for Ration Card holders. Those who avail the ration card will have to complete e-KYC. The deadline for e-KYC has been extended to 30 April. Earlier, the last date was 31 March. Whoever does not complete the e-KYC work, his name will be removed from the ration card.
The government has extended its deadline six times so far but this time it has been said that this is the last time the date is being extended. The Ministry of Food and Supplies has written a letter to all the states asking them to complete the e-KYC work by this new date. It has been said that e-KYC must be completed by April 30 at any cost. For e-KYC, beneficiaries can go to the PDS shop and complete this process with the help of e-POS machine.
Why is KYC necessary?
According to media reports, verification of about 23.5% ration cards is still pending. Let us tell you that KYC means “Know Your Customer”.
