Credit Card Rules Change: ICICI Bank has made significant changes to its credit card rules for its users. These new rules will be effective from January 15, 2026, and will impact reward points, everyday spending, foreign currency payments, entertainment offers, and various transaction fees. The bank stated that these changes will help cardholders better manage their spending and benefits.

Holders of the Emerald Metal credit card will continue to receive 6 reward points for every Rs. 200 spent on retail purchases. However, according to the new rules, these points will no longer be awarded for spending on government services, fuel, property management, rent, tax payments, and third-party wallets. This aims to prevent cardholders from receiving special benefits on expenses that fall outside the scope of the bank’s reward program.
