But there’s no need to worry; the solution to this problem is quite simple. You can correct your name on your passport online. There’s a specific process for this, and some documents are required.

First, correct your name on these documents:

Before correcting your name on your passport, it’s crucial to correct your name on some essential documents. These include your Aadhaar card, PAN card, electricity bill, birth certificate, and if you’ve undergone a legal process for a name change, a gazette notification or marriage certificate. Scanned copies of all these documents need to be uploaded to the portal, and the original copies must be carried with you on the day of your appointment for verification.

How to Apply on the Passport Seva Portal:

To correct your name on your passport, first register or log in to the official Passport Seva portal.

Then select the Re-issue option and choose Name Correction.

Next, fill out the online form, entering your new, correct name and other necessary information.

Upload scanned copies of the required documents.

Then pay the required fee.

Now book an appointment at a Passport Seva Kendra or Passport Office.

What is the next process?

After paying the charges and booking the appointment, print the application receipt.

Then, on the scheduled date, visit the Passport Seva Kendra with all your documents.
