Credit Card UPI Link–There is a continuous increase in UPI payments in India. According to the report of NPCI, in December 2024, the Unified Interface i.e. UPI has crossed the figure of 16.73 billion transactions, which is the highest till date. It has increased by 8 percent as compared to last month. Digital payment is becoming increasingly popular. In such a situation, the facility of UPI payment has been started with credit card. But the question arises that how can UPI be linked to credit card.

How to link UPI with credit card

To link credit card to UPI, it is necessary to first download UPI linked apps like BHIM and PhonePe. Once the app is installed, you have to go to the ‘add payment method’ section. After this, the credit card option has to be selected.

After this you will have to enter your card number. Also, you will have to enter CVV and expiry date. Then you will have to enter one time password i.e. OTP, which will be sent to your registered phone number for verification.

In this way your UPI ID will be ready, which will give you the facility to send and receive money.

With the help of this ID, transactions like bill payments and fund transfer can be done.

How to make UPI payment using credit card

Once your credit card is linked to your UPI account, making payments is easy. You can scan a QR code or choose ‘Pay by Phone Number’ or ‘Pay by Contact’.

After entering the amount, select your credit card as the payment mode.

After this enter your PIN and complete the transaction.

Currently, only RuPay credit cards can be linked to UPI. This facility is offered by 22 banks including Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, Indian Bank, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, SBI Cards, ICICI Bank, IDFC Bank and IndusInd Bank. Popular UPI apps like BHIM, Paytm and Google Pay support linking RuPay cards. There is no additional charge for using a credit card, and users can make payments without having to manually enter their credit card details every time.
