Temparature set to rise

Winter seems to have made a quick exit this time. According to the Meteorological Office, temperatures in Bengal will gradually climb. South Bengal will enjoy dry weather for the next 4-5 days, with both minimum and maximum temperatures expected to creep above normal by the end of the week. In Kolkata, the minimum could hit around 24/25 degrees Celsius, while the maximum might soar past 30 degrees Celsius over the weekend.

As for rain, Alipore Meteorological Department Director Habibur Rahman Biswas mentioned that there’s no rain expected in South Bengal for the next four to five days, which means the heat will intensify. North Bengal, on the other hand, is in a better spot. Light rain is possible in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri, while the rest of the districts will stay dry. The temperatures will hold steady for about four days.

After that, we can expect a slight increase in temperatures across the board. There’s a chance of light rain in the hilly areas of North Bengal, and even some light snowfall in the higher elevations of Darjeeling. Plus, dense fog is likely in North Bengal. On Friday, we might see some rain return to the hilly regions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

South Bengal is set for some dry days ahead, lasting about four to five days with hardly any chance of rain. The temperature is taking a dip because of a storm, but this should stay steady for the next couple of days. After that, we can expect a rise in temperature, possibly by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius by the end of the week. Meteorologists are predicting that both the low and high temps will go up.

The weather will stay dry, with minimum temperatures around 20 degrees and maximums hitting about 30 for the next two days. Starting Thursday, we should see a slight increase in temperature. By the weekend, expect minimums around 24-25 degrees Celsius and maximums climbing above 30 degrees. Today, Kolkata’s minimum temperature is 21.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.9 degrees above the usual.
