People with a Kisan Credit Card of up to Rs 50,000 will not receive the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In Jharkhand, more than 50,000 people fall into this category. The government has instructed the Deputy Commissioners of all districts to survey PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries.

Jharkhand has now been excluded from the list of plateau states. Previously, Jharkhand was included, but now only Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh remain on the list. Beneficiaries from these plateau states will receive Rs. 1.30 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while those outside the plateau states will get Rs. 1.20 lakh. According to sources, 10 types of beneficiaries will no longer receive benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).

Will Kisan Credit Card holders get any benefit?

Under the new rules, those who have a Kisan Credit Card of up to Rs 50,000 will not get the benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In Jharkhand, more than 50,000 such cardholders are there, which may increase the number of people missing out on this scheme in the state.

Survey and guidelines of the Jharkhand government

The Jharkhand government has ordered the Deputy Commissioners of all districts to survey the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. With this, Jharkhand has now been excluded from the list of plateau states. The list now includes only Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. Beneficiaries who previously received Rs 1.30 lakh will now get Rs 1.20 lakh.

Who will not be beneficiaries under the new rules?

The Government of India has excluded 10 types of beneficiaries from receiving the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) under the new guidelines. These include people who own three-wheelers or four-wheelers, whose family members are beneficiaries of government schemes, whose non-agricultural businesses are registered, whose family members earn more than Rs 15,000 per month, those who have more than 2.5 acres of irrigated land or more than 5 acres of non-irrigated land. Additionally, people who pay income tax or professional tax will also be excluded from this scheme.

Who can apply For PM Awas Yojana?

There are 3 categories of benefits under the PM Awas Yojana: EWS, LIG, and MIG. The EWS category, with an annual income of less than 3 lakhs, is eligible for the benefits of this scheme. People earning between 3 to 6 lakhs annually fall under LIG, and those earning 6 to 12 lakhs annually are in the MIG category. People in these 3 categories can apply and avail the benefits.

Who is not eligible for the benefits

The benefits of this scheme are not available to those whose family members already own a house in their name. Additionally, if you have already received benefits from any government housing scheme, you will not be eligible for the PM Awas Yojana.
