Big news for thousands of UP teachers. The Secondary Education Department has granted old pension benefits to around 1,845 teachers and staff who were hired for advertised positions before April 1, 2005. Following the central government’s announcement, the state government recently decided to extend old pension benefits to teachers and employees who were advertised for positions before April 1, 2005, but were appointed afterward. To facilitate this, the Secondary Education Department set up a committee at the Directorate level to gather applications from the relevant teachers and staff. Based on the committee’s recent findings, it has been confirmed that over 1,845 teachers and employees will receive the old pension scheme.
Surendra Kumar Tiwari, the Additional Director of Secondary Education, has published a district-wise list of the teachers and employees, including their advertisement and joining dates. Meanwhile, Sanjay Dwivedi, the State Minister of the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Teachers Association (Chandel Group), expressed that the organization has been advocating for this for many years.
He congratulated all the teachers and employees who are now eligible for the old pension. He also mentioned that there are some issues with the applications of a few teachers and employees, urging for a quick resolution so that their orders can be issued as well.
