If you are a woman and want to start your own business, you can avail an interest-free loan of up to ₹5 lakh through a special scheme of the central government. This scheme is called the Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
What is the Lakhpati Didi Yojana?
The Lakhpati Didi Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, 2023. Under this scheme, women are encouraged to pursue employment and self-employment. Eligible women are given interest-free loans ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh so that they can start their own small or large businesses. So far, millions of women across the country have benefited from this scheme and started their own businesses. The government aims to connect more than 3 crore women with this scheme in the coming years.

Training is also provided along with the loan
It is worth noting that this scheme is extremely beneficial for women who want to start a business but lack complete knowledge about it. Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, along with providing loans, the government also provides skill training to women. This enables women to run their businesses more effectively and earn income for a longer period.
Documents required for the scheme
To avail the benefits of this scheme, women must have an Aadhaar card, PAN card, income certificate, residence certificate, passport-size photograph, and bank passbook.

Eligibility for the Lakhpati Didi Yojana
Only women between the ages of 18 and 50 can avail the benefits of this scheme. It is also mandatory for the woman to be associated with a Self Help Group.
