The Chief Minister has announced that under the Ladli Behna Yojana, women will now be given financial assistance of ₹ 1500 every month. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday announced an increase of ₹ 250 in the monthly financial assistance given under the Ladli Bahana Yojana. Now from this Diwali, i.e. from October 2025, the amount given to eligible women will be increased from ₹ 1250 to ₹ 1500 per month. This step is a big effort towards making women more empowered and self-reliant.
What did Chief Minister Mohan Yadav say
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “Like last year, this time also an additional ₹ 250 will be given on the occasion of Rakshabandhan (August 2025). Also, the monthly assistance amount will be increased to ₹ 1,500 from October.”

He said, “It is our top priority that our sisters become self-reliant. The state government stands with women at every turn. From Diwali, ₹ 1500 will be sent to every sister’s account every month.” This announcement has brought a wave of happiness among women, as it will be a significant aid in their monthly budget.
1.27 crore women are getting benefits
Currently, this scheme is benefiting about 1.27 crore (12.7 million) women in the state, whose age is between 21 and 60 years. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government launched this scheme in March 2023. In the manifesto released for the Assembly Elections 2023, the BJP had promised that this amount would be gradually increased to ₹ 3,000 per month. The opposition raised this issue several times after the elections, but now the Chief Minister has reiterated that the government stands by its promise.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “Our commitment is that we will provide ₹ 3,000 per month to our Ladli sisters. The scheme started with ₹ 1,000, which was later increased to ₹ 1,250, and now it is being increased to ₹ 1,500 from Diwali. Our target is to increase this amount to ₹ 3,000 by 2028.” This shows that the government is committed to making women financially stronger in a phased manner.
