Gold and Silver Prices Today, May 7: Gold and silver prices have once again surged. In early trading on the MCX, gold has become dearer by over ₹750, while silver prices have jumped by approximately ₹3,800. Gold for June 5 delivery had closed at ₹152,132 per 10 grams in the previous session; today, it opened at ₹152,887 in early trading. As of 10:00 AM, it is trending at ₹152,535 per 10 grams.
At 9:40 AM, gold was trading at ₹152,604, up by ₹472. However, following a price correction around 10:00 AM, it has now settled at ₹152,535. Similarly, silver for July 3 delivery had closed at ₹253,265 per kilogram in the previous session. Today—Thursday morning—it opened at ₹254,998. In early trading, it was trending at ₹257,055, marking a rise of ₹3,790. However, following a price dip around 10:00 AM, the price has now adjusted to ₹255,240.
Gold Rates in the Bullion Market?
Gold and silver prices have continued to rise in the bullion market today. 24-carat gold is trading at ₹152,460 per 10 grams, up ₹330. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold has reached ₹139,750, up ₹300. Additionally, 18-carat gold is seen trading at ₹114,340, up by ₹200. Meanwhile, silver also surged by ₹5,000, reaching ₹270,000 per kilogram.
The crude oil benchmark, Brent crude, tumbled 8% on Wednesday and is now trading at $102 per barrel. Falling oil prices are expected to alleviate inflation fears, thereby increasing the likelihood of interest rate cuts and stimulating renewed buying interest in gold.
