The prices of gas cylinders in the country keep changing every month for some reason or the other, and this time too something similar has been seen from the beginning of June (June 1, 2025). The big news is that there has been a reduction in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders across the country. The most important thing is that there has been a great reduction of about ₹ 25 in the price of 19 kg commercial cylinders, which has given some relief to the traders.
On the other hand, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg cylinders used for domestic use, due to which the general public is still facing the brunt of inflation. Let us understand this entire change in detail and know what effect it will have on your pocket.
Big cut in the price of commercial gas cylinder
Commercial LPG cylinders are mainly used in hotels, dhabas, canteens, and other small and big commercial institutions. The reduction in cylinder prices at these places has given them some relief, which will help in reducing their business operating costs a bit. Oil companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial cylinders by ₹ 24. Now a 19 kg commercial cylinder will be available in Delhi for ₹ 1723.50, which was earlier ₹ 1747.50.

Reduction in other major cities too
Its prices have also come down in many big cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Bhubaneswar. This is the third consecutive time that the prices of commercial cylinders have come down. After a reduction of ₹ 41 in April and ₹ 14.5 in May, now there has been a reduction of ₹ 24 again in June, which has given direct relief to the traders. This will provide some stability to their business.
No change in domestic gas cylinder prices
While there has been relief in the prices of commercial cylinders, the prices of domestic cylinders remain the same. There has been no reduction in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder yet.
Last increase
Actually, on 7 April 2025, the price of domestic gas cylinders was increased by ₹ 50. From then till today, the price of these cylinders remains ₹ 853 per cylinder.
Beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana
Beneficiaries taking cylinders under the Ujjwala Scheme are now paying ₹ 553, which was ₹ 503 earlier.
This clearly shows that domestic consumers have not got any relief at the moment. The increased prices of LPG are taking a toll on the monthly budget of families, and the general public is very upset about this.
What is the future of domestic cylinder prices
Oil companies have not yet made any change in the prices of domestic cylinders. Market experts believe that if the prices of crude oil and gas remain stable in the international market, a corresponding reduction in domestic cylinder prices can also be expected in the coming months.
However, at present, there is no clear indication of when and how much relief will be provided. Till then the common people will have to run the kitchen at increased prices. This situation remains a big financial burden for families.

Why do gas cylinder prices keep changing
Gas cylinder prices depend on many important factors, due to which they keep fluctuating continuously:
This is the biggest factor. When crude oil prices rise in the international market, it directly affects the prices of domestic cylinders.
The cost of transporting the cylinder from the refinery to the consumers is also included in the price.
Taxes imposed by the government and subsidies given also affect the final price.
The strengthening of the US dollar against the rupee can also make imported LPG expensive.
The government has tried to make gas cylinders available to poor families at a cheaper rate through the Ujjwala Yojana, but rising international prices and tax burden make it a bit difficult.
