Starting November 1, 2025, updating your Aadhaar card gets a whole lot easier. If you’re an Aadhaar holder, listen up: no more trips to the enrollment center. Now you can change your name, address, date of birth, or mobile number right from home, online.
These updates don’t just save time—they make the whole process smoother and safer. Plus, there’s one more thing you need to know. The government now requires you to link your Aadhaar with your PAN card. Skip this step, and your PAN card stops working.
No Need to Visit Aadhaar Centres
Starting November 1, 2025, you won’t have to go to an Aadhaar centre just to update your details. You can change your name, address, date of birth, or mobile number right from home—just do it online. The only reason you’d need to visit a centre is if you want to update your fingerprints or iris scan.
UIDAI’s also connecting Aadhaar with other government databases like PAN, passport, ration card, and birth certificate. This makes the whole process smoother and quicker. Less travel, less paperwork, more convenience. Just make sure your mobile number and email are already linked to your Aadhaar.
New Aadhaar Update Charges
Changing your Aadhaar details is pretty quick now—just a few minutes. If you want to update your name, address, or mobile number, it’s ₹75. Need to change your fingerprint, eye scan, or photo? That’s ₹125. For kids between 5–7 and 15–17, biometric updates don’t cost anything.
If you’re updating documents online, that’s free until June 14, 2026. After that, you’ll pay ₹75 at the center. Printing an Aadhaar card is ₹40. If you want someone to come to your home for enrollment, it’s ₹700 for the first person, and ₹350 for everyone else at the same address.
Link Aadhaar with PAN by December 31, 2025
You must link your PAN with Aadhaar by December 31, 2025. If you don’t, your PAN will become inactive from January 1, 2026. New PAN applicants must also verify Aadhaar.
Banks and financial institutions will now do KYC using Aadhaar OTP, Video KYC, or face-to-face verification. These methods are fast and paperless.
These new rules will make Aadhaar easier and safer. Link your Aadhaar with PAN on time and keep your details updated. UIDAI has made these changes for your convenience and security.
