EPFO Facility: If you are a government or non-government employee, then you must have a PF account. Let us tell you that EPFO, the organization that handles PF accounts, has taken a special decision. After this decision, PF account holders are going to be very happy. For information, let us tell you that EPFO has given a special facility to PF account holders. This facility has started from August 1. In this new facility, EPFO has changed the way of creating and activating a UAN number; now, employees will be able to activate their UAN numbers themselves. For this, only the Umang app has to be used. Earlier, the employer used to do it. This change was announced in the official circular of EPFO on July 30. Apart from this, it has been announced that now creating a UAN number by the employer in the old way will be necessary only for international employees and people of Nepal and Bhutan.

Know what is UAN number is
UAN number is a 12-digit unique number. Let us tell you that this number is issued to all employees. This is a permanent identity that does not change even if the job changes. An employee’s PF account number is linked to this number. At the same time, when an employee starts working in a new company, the PF account received from that new company is linked to the same UAN, which makes it possible for the employee to manage all the PF accounts. Through this, you can download the balance and the passbook.
Let us tell you that now any employee will be able to create a UAN on their own and activate the already existing UAN number. For this, only the Umang app has to be used. Now the employee will not have to contact their employer to get a UAN. In this, only the face authentication process of Aadhaar has been used, which has made the process very fast. With this, you will have to update the passbook, KYC, and submit the claim. With this, the employees will be able to update their information themselves.
How to create a new UAN
Download the UMANG App and the Aadhaar Face RD App.
Go to UAN Allotment and Activation in the UMANG App.
Enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number.
Enter OTP and scan your face.
If your Aadhaar is not linked to any UAN earlier, a new UAN will be generated and sent via SMS.

Activate an already created UAN like this
Open the UMANG App and select the UAN Activation option.
Enter UAN, Aadhaar, and mobile number.
Enter OTP and verify identity by scanning your face.
After the activation is complete, a temporary password will be sent via SMS.
Log in to the UAN portal using the password.
