Record Number of Members in the Financial Year 2024-25

Additionally, the assets under management for this scheme are now over ₹44,700 crore. A noteworthy point is that around 55% of the newly added customers are women, which is a strong indication of women’s empowerment.
Why Is This Scheme Popular?
One of the main reasons for the popularity of this scheme is its affordability. By depositing just ₹210 per month, you can receive a pension of ₹5,000 per month after the age of 60. That means your daily investment will only be ₹7.
The pension amount depends on your age and the monthly deposit you make. You can choose to receive a pension of ₹1,000, ₹2,000, ₹3,000, ₹4,000, or ₹5,000.
An added benefit is that after the subscriber’s death, the spouse continues to receive the pension. If both pass away, the entire amount is refunded to the nominee. Additionally, there is a tax deduction benefit under Section 80c.
Who Can Join This Scheme?
To join the Atal Pension Yojana, the following conditions apply:
- The applicant must be between 18 and 40 years of age.
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Monthly contributions must be made until the age of 60.
