Driving Licence Update: If the photo on your driving licence (DL) is quite old or you want to change your signature, this information is useful for you. The transport department has now started an online facility to change the photo and signature on your driving licence. Often, people have a picture on their DL that is several years old, which causes problems with identification. Now, this problem can be solved from the comfort of your home. This facility has been launched to address identification-related issues.

Important things to know before availing this facility
Some conditions must be met to apply online. Your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card must be active. You must have the details of your existing driving licence. After the update, the same photo that is registered in your Aadhaar card will appear on your driving licence.
How to change the photo and signature on your DL
First, you need to visit the official website of Parivahan Sewa and click on the ‘Online Services’ option. After that, select ‘Driving Licence Services’ and then go to the ‘Change of Photo and Signature in DL’ option.
Now enter your driving licence number, date of birth, and captcha code. After clicking on ‘DL Details’, all the information about your licence will be displayed on the screen. After that, enter your area PIN code, which will automatically fill in the details of the concerned ARTO office.
Now enter your Aadhaar number and verify it with the OTP received on your registered mobile number. After that, upload your new photo and signature and state the reason for the change. After filling in all the information, pay the online processing fee of ₹400.

Finally, apply by entering the application number, date of birth, and captcha code. After the application is complete, a receipt will be generated, which you can save or print.
When will you receive the new driving licence?
This entire process depends on Aadhaar-based verification. After the application is successful, the new driving licence is usually sent to your address within 7 days. Before applying, it is advised that all the information related to your Aadhaar and driving licence is correct and updated.
