Double Subsidy on Pesticides: A farmers’ fair was conducted by the Sugarcane Section of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department in Chaharwala village, located within the Saraswati Sugar Mill region. The event was presided over by Dr. Aditya Pratap Dabas, the Deputy Director of the Agriculture Department. During the fair, farmers were informed that by supplying 85 percent of their sugarcane to the sugar mill, they would be eligible for a double subsidy on pesticides.

Discussions about various improved sugarcane varieties and agricultural practices

Dr. Vineet Jain from the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department provided insights into agricultural equipment. Additionally, Dr. Sandeep Rawal, Coordinator of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Damla, discussed various improved sugarcane varieties and agricultural practices. DP Singh, Senior Vice President of Saraswati Sugar Mill, emphasized the mill’s efforts to facilitate sugarcane cultivation through mechanization, covering all stages from sowing to harvesting.

Rental services in farmers’ fields

The mill is also fostering the development of entrepreneurs who will offer rental services in farmers’ fields, supported by the sugar mill. He encouraged farmers to maximize their sugarcane sowing, highlighting the benefits of sugarcane cultivation and the full support available from the mill. Farmers who supply their entire sugarcane yield to the mill will receive special recognition.

Benefits provided by the mill

Ashwani Arya from Saraswati Sugar Mill elaborated on the benefits provided by the mill, stating that for the 2024-25 season, farmers who deliver 85 percent or more of their total sugarcane production to the mill will receive a double subsidy on pesticides along with additional benefits. The event was also attended by Assistant Sugarcane Development Officer Dr. Suraj Bhan, Anil Johar, Bhupendra Singh, and Vipin Kumar.
