December Deadlines: Every year, with the beginning of December, deadlines for many important tasks related to taxes, documents, and government schemes rapidly approach. If you’ve been putting off linking your PAN and Aadhaar, filing your income tax return, paying advance tax, or completing other financial formalities, delaying them could prove costly. All these deadlines directly impact your banking services, investment process, and tax profile. Therefore, it’s crucial to know which essential tasks you should complete before December 31st to avoid facing any hassles or penalties.

Advance Tax Payment Mandatory

Advance tax is mandatory for taxpayers with a tax liability of more than ₹10,000 after TDS deduction. The last date for depositing the third instalment in December is December 15th. If the payment is not made by the deadline, the Income Tax Department may impose both interest and penalties. Therefore, paying advance tax on time is the easiest way to avoid future financial difficulties.

The linking process can be easily completed through the Income Tax e-filing portal and SMS.
