Chief Minister Health Scheme: The Punjab government has launched the Sarbat Health Insurance Scheme. This scheme, commonly known as the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme, is rapidly expanding in the state. Under this scheme, eligible families are provided with cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per year. This scheme has made access to healthcare services easier.
So far, more than 200,000 families have benefited from cashless treatment under this scheme. This government initiative has significantly reduced the burden of high medical expenses on poor and middle-class families.Know what is the Chief Minister’s Health SchemeThe primary objective of this Punjab government scheme is to protect every family from high medical costs. Each health card provides a family with access to cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh annually.
This facility helps reduce financial burdens during medical emergencies. To date, more than 3.5 million cards have been issued across Punjab. Interestingly, approximately 50,000 new people are joining the scheme every day.According to official figures, more than Rs 300 crore has been spent under the scheme so far . More than 200,000 people have been treated through a network of over 900 government and private hospitals in the state, including approximately 40,000 surgeries.
Important treatments such as dialysis, cancer care, heart disease, and orthopedic surgery are being successfully performed through this scheme.
Cancer and dialysis patients get big relief
According to media reports, kidney and cancer patients are benefiting the most from this scheme . Currently, more than 68,000 patients are availing of dialysis facilities. 14 crore rupees have been spent on this.
