The central government makes a big decision regarding PAN Card 2.0. Every Indian has a PAN card, which is essential not just for opening a bank account but also for various other purposes, including income tax. Recently, PAN 2.0 has been introduced, and many are curious if the old PAN card will be phased out or if they need to get a new one.
The good news is that the old PAN card will still be valid. However, if anyone prefers, they can opt for the new PAN card, which comes with some cool features, like a QR code. This addition enhances security, making it harder for anyone to misuse your PAN card.
People with the old PAN cards can keep using them as usual, but they also have the option to switch to the new PAN card. Those who choose to apply for a new one will receive the PAN 2.0 at no cost. There’s no fee involved, even for those who want to upgrade from their old PAN card.
If you’re looking to apply for the new PAN 2.0, the process is quick and easy. You’ll get an email confirmation, and the PAN card will be mailed directly to your home. You can also apply through the PAN portal by entering your old PAN card number and Aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to your phone, and there’s no charge for this service.
The new PAN card 2.0 should arrive within 30 days. Just a heads up, if you apply more than three times, there will be a fee of 8 rupees 26 paisa, plus GST.
