Business Idea: A female entrepreneur from Australia has started such a unique business that has surprised the whole world. This Queensland woman is earning extra income by renting out half of her bed through ‘hot bedding’. She took this bold step during the Corona epidemic. It may seem unbelievable, but it is true.
The woman is earning huge profits
According to a report published in the Daily Mirror, 38-year-old Monique Jeremiah rents out half of her cot to a stranger under ‘hot bedding’ for 985 Australian dollars per month. This amount is approximately ₹54,000 in Indian rupees. However, the strict condition is that one has to sleep next to each other without any emotional relationship. It may seem strange, but Monique considers it an economical and effective way to earn money.

Monique Jeremiah firmly believes that if two people understand this rule clearly, then it is a great way to earn income. ‘Hot bedding’ is best for individuals who can sleep while respecting each other’s personal space and without any expectations. It is a unique but rapidly growing side hustle. It can be a lucrative option for those who want to escape loneliness and also earn some extra money.
One publication quoted Monique as saying, “‘Hot bedding’ is the perfect situation. Especially if you are sapiosexual like me and you prefer intellectual companionship over physical intimacy.” Monique started this business during Corona to avoid financial difficulties. This is proof of her foresight and ability to see opportunity in crisis.
Found a new way in difficult times

Before starting this unusual business, Monique used to run an education agency! But during the COVID-19 pandemic, when her agency and teaching jobs were shut down, she started renting out a part of her bed to earn income. This shows her indomitable spirit and ability to adapt to circumstances.
Monique further said, “My life was falling apart and everything was out of my control. I realized that there was only one way left. That is to think something new and work differently. That’s when I decided to start Hot Bedding. My first client was a person I already knew, which helped me to have a successful start.” She further said, “Putting my ego aside for a moment, I contacted my ex-partner. I had not even spoken to him for a year. But I said, ‘Would you like to stay safe from COVID with me?’ And I was surprised that he said yes.” This shows his understanding and efficient communication skills.
Room is like a five-star hotel
In the year 2023, Monique said that she is considering increasing the rate of ‘Hot Bedding’ to around ₹ 14,000 per week. She has cited rising inflation in Australia as the reason for the price hike. She claims that her rooms are very elegant and comfortable, the size of a five-star hotel suite. This shows the high quality and attractive price of her offering.
