Big Relief in Women’s Employment Scheme, Rs. 2 Lakh Assistance After Initial Rs. 10,000

Mahila Rojgar Yojna: The Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme has now reached its next phase. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has shared new information regarding this scheme. He has announced that women selected under the scheme will now receive additional financial assistance of up to Rs. 2 lakh. Previously, in the first phase of the scheme, women received Rs. 10,000 in assistance.

What is the Women’s Employment Scheme?

The Bihar Women’s Employment Scheme 2025 is a significant initiative of the state government, aimed at empowering women economically and providing them with new employment opportunities. Under this scheme, women are being provided financial assistance to start their own businesses or expand their existing ventures. In the first phase, millions of women received an initial amount of Rs. 10,000 to help them start their businesses.

When will the next installment of the Women’s Employment Scheme be released?

According to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the second installment under the Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme will be released from February. This installment is being provided approximately six months after the scheme’s launch. The government states that the next installment will be given only to those women who have utilized the first installment appropriately.

This announcement was made before the state budget session. During this time, Nitish Kumar’s “Samriddhi Yatra” (Prosperity Journey) is also underway, the purpose of which is to review the progress of the government’s development projects worth approximately Rs. 50,000 crore. A large number of women are participating in this journey.

How much will be given in the second installment?

Currently, it has not been clarified how much will be given to women in the second installment. However, the government has indicated that women may receive up to Rs. 2 lakh in additional assistance in total. Approximately 1.56 crore women benefited in the first phase. Now, the state government is reviewing how the women utilized the initial Rs. 10,000, and the list of beneficiaries for the second installment is being prepared based on this assessment.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Statement

Posting on the social media platform X, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the process of providing additional financial assistance of up to ₹2 lakh to beneficiaries selected under the Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme has been initiated. This assistance will be disbursed in installments, provided the initial amount received has been utilized for employment or business purposes. He also stated that if a woman’s business is thriving and there is a need, providing a lump-sum amount can also be considered.

The Chief Minister has directed the concerned department to make arrangements for better marketing of the products made by women under the scheme. He also instructed that the beneficiary women be linked with various government programs and departments, such as textile manufacturing, Sudha milk outlets, and Didi Ki Rasoi (community kitchens), to ensure the sustainable strengthening of their employment.
