It is everyone’s dream to travel in the Vande Bharat train. Indian Railways has made a big and wonderful plan regarding Vande Bharat trains. In the financial year 2025-26 (till 31 July 2025), the number of coaches will be increased in some Vande Bharat trains in view of the increasing number of passengers. Now, passengers will get more seats in the Vande Bharat Express, so that more and more people will be able to experience this modern train.
More seats in Vande Bharat
Based on the number of passengers, the Railways have decided to make this unprecedented change. The number of coaches will be increased in Vande Bharat trains, in which seats are always full. This will not only enable more people to travel, but will also open the way for running new Vande Bharat trains. According to the Railways, three 16-coach Vande Bharat trains will be made 20-coach, and four 8-coach trains will be made 16-coach.

Three 16-coach trains, which will be 20-coach:
Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central (Train No. 20631/32)
Secunderabad – Tirupati (Train No. 20701/02)
Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli (Train No. 20665/66)
Four 8-coach trains, which will be 16-coach
Madurai – Bengaluru Cantt (Train No. 20671/72)
Deoghar – Varanasi (Train No. 22499/00)
Howrah – Rourkela (Train No. 20871/72)
Indore – Nagpur (Train No. 20911/12)
After this unprecedented change, the remaining racks will be used to run new Vande Bharat trains. This will enable many more cities to get the facility of Vande Bharat.
Coaches will increase based on demand
Railways has clearly stated, “Based on occupancy (number of passengers) and possibility of expansion, three 16-coach Vande Bharat train services are planned to be upgraded to 20 coaches and four 8-coach Vande Bharat train services to 16 coaches.” This shows that this decision is completely based on the demand of the passengers.
Also, the racks that will be replaced after replacing the coaches will be used to run new trains. This is an extremely wise move, which will make proper use of resources and more and more people will get to experience traveling in a world-class train like Vande Bharat.
