Railways has named this 20% discount offer as ‘Round Trip Package’. In this scheme, if you book tickets for both your journeys together, that is, to come and go at the same time, then you will get a discount of 20% on the total fare. This simply means that the total cost of your journey will be reduced considerably.

When is this scheme starting

This round-trip package of railways has started from 14 August 2025 and is currently being run as an experiment. If this experiment is successful and the feedback from the people is good, then it can be gradually implemented all over the country forever.

What conditions have to be followed

To take advantage of this special scheme, you have to keep in mind some important things:

The name of the passenger should be the same on both the tickets, coming and going.

You will get the benefit of this scheme only if your tickets on both sides are confirmed.

If you cancel the ticket, you will not get any refund.

Booking of tickets for both sides has to be done at the same time and through the same medium, whether it is the IRCTC website or app, or the ticket counter.

No other discount will be applicable on tickets booked under this scheme.

Once the ticket is booked under this offer, no changes can be made to it.
