A new and important scheme for farmers has been reimplemented in Madhya Pradesh. Providing significant relief to soybean farmers, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced the relaunch of the Bhavantar Yojana. Registrations are set to begin soon.
Under this scheme, if farmers receive a price lower than the MSP (Minimum Support Price) for their crop in the market, the state government will pay the remaining amount. This scheme is expected to prove highly effective for farmers. Let’s understand what the Bhavantar Yojana is and how it will provide unprecedented benefits to farmers.
What is the Bhavantar Yojana, and what is its purpose?
The Chief Minister Bhavantar Payment Scheme was launched in 2018-19 to protect farmers from the problem of fluctuations in crop prices. Under this scheme, farmers are paid the difference between the Minimum Support Price (MSP) set by the Government of India and the model price offered in the state market. This scheme has now been relaunched specifically for soybean farmers. Farmers will sell their crops in the market as before.

The difference between the MSP and the model price will be paid directly into their accounts by the Madhya Pradesh government through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The main objective of the Bhavantar Yojana is to ensure that farmers receive the minimum support price for their crops and to provide a safety net in case of falling market rates. The Minimum Support Price (MSP) for soybean has been set by the central government at ₹5328 per quintal.
Complete information on Bhavantar Yojana registration and duration
The registration process for the Bhavantar Yojana is mandatory, and the dates for the registration have been announced. Registration for the Bhavantar Yojana will begin on October 10th and continue until October 25th. The duration of this scheme will begin on November 1, 2025, and will continue until January 31, 2026.
Registration for the Bhavantar Yojana will be mandatory on the e-Uparjan portal, which begins on October 10. The Revenue Department will verify registered farmers and their land holdings. The funds will be transferred to the bank account provided at the time of registration.
Compensation Assessment and Required Documents
The assessment of compensation under the Bhavantar Yojana will be based on certain criteria. If the selling price of the crop is higher than or equal to the MSP, the scheme benefits will not be available. If the selling price of an average quality crop in the market is lower than the MSP but higher than the state government’s model price, the farmer will be paid the difference between the MSP and the selling price.

Additionally, if the market price of agricultural produce is lower than the state government’s average model price, the farmer will be paid the difference between the MSP and the model price. Let’s understand this with an example: If the minimum support price for soybean is ₹5328 per quintal and the market selling price of the crop is ₹5000 per quintal, the subsidy/difference amount from the government will be ₹328 per quintal.
The payment amount under the Bhavantar Yojana will be deposited directly into farmers’ accounts through DBT. This scheme requires a registration number on the e-Uparjan portal, a contract slip, a weighing slip, and a payment slip. Additionally, a certificate of sale after the 4-month storage period is over, an Aadhaar card, and a farmer ID are also required documents.
