Beti Hai Anmol Yojana: The government implements various programs aimed at educating and supporting daughters. Additionally, state governments have their own initiatives, like the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana in Uttar Pradesh. In a similar vein, the Himachal Pradesh government offers the Beti Hai Anmol Yojana, which provides financial aid of Rs 21,000 upon the birth of a daughter.
The goal of this program is to assist daughters from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families from birth through graduation, ensuring their education and future are secured. Here’s a detailed overview of the Beti Hai Anmol Yojana and how you can take advantage of it:
Under this scheme, funds are released in 2 stages
When a daughter is born, the government deposits Rs 21,000 in her name in a bank or post office account (FD). This sum, along with accrued interest, is given to the daughter when she reaches 18 years of age. Annual educational funding is available from grade 1 through college. The amounts are Rs 450 per year for grades 1 to 3, Rs 750 per year for grade 4, and between Rs 1,050 to Rs 1,500 per year for grades 6 to 10. For girls in grades 11 and 12, the funding is Rs 2,250 per year, and for graduate programs such as BA/B.Sc./MBBS, it is Rs 5,000 per year.
Who is eligible for this scheme?
To qualify, applicants must be permanent residents of Himachal Pradesh, and their families should fall below the poverty line (BPL). Each family can benefit for a maximum of two daughters. Additionally, a daughter must not be married before turning 18; otherwise, the deposit will revert to the government.

You can apply online by visiting the Himachal e-District portal. To apply offline, you can obtain a form from your local Anganwadi worker or Lok Mitra Center.
