If you are planning to go to the bank tomorrow, then wait a little. On 4 September 2025, banks will be closed in some states. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has said that public and private banks like SBI, HDFC, ICICI, and Axis Bank will remain closed in one state on Thursday.

This holiday is because of local festivals and events. As per the RBI holiday list, banking services will not work in some states on this day. Customers are advised to do their bank work on Friday instead.

Why will banks be closed tomorrow?

Banks will remain open in most parts of the country tomorrow. But in Kerala, all banks will be closed due to the festival of Onam. Onam is the biggest festival of Kerala and is celebrated every year with joy and traditions.

Here is the list of bank holidays in September 2025:

Bank Holiday List – September 2025

Note for Customers

This list is based on the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar. Holidays may change in different states.

Even if banks are closed, online banking, UPI, and mobile apps will work as usual. But services like cheque clearance, cash deposit, and branch work may stop for the day.

So, it is better to confirm from your local bank branch before planning a visit.
