Ayushman Bharat Yojana is the world’s largest government-funded health insurance scheme. About 12 crore families in the country get treatment benefits of Rs 5 lakh annually through this scheme. Beneficiaries of this scheme can get treatment in all the hospitals where the benefits of this scheme are available.
In addition, if an Indian citizen is seventy or above, they will get free treatment under Ayushman Bharat Yojana. That is, all Indians above seventy will get free health services under this scheme.
However, before getting an Ayushman card, you should know some important information so that you do not face any problem if necessary. There are many treatments that do not come under Ayushman Yojana. Find out which treatments Ayushman Yojana does not cover?
Ayushman card will not be valid in OPD– If there is a disease that does not require hospitalization, treatment can be done only in OPD, then the cost of treatment of that disease will not be covered under this scheme. If you get treatment in OPD of a private hospital under Ayushman Yojana, you will have to bear that cost. Ayushman card can be used only after being admitted to the hospital. However, discussions are underway on this issue by the central government.
Ayushman card will not be valid only for getting tests done– Suppose, before being admitted to the hospital, you have done some necessary tests as per the doctor’s advice and after being discharged from the hospital, then that cost will be covered under Ayushman Yojana. However, if you are not admitted to the hospital, then that cost will not be covered under Ayushman Yojana for getting tests done only.

In case of buying energy-boosting vitamins and tonics– If you have bought vitamins and tonics to increase energy, then you will have to bear the cost. However, if vitamins and tonics are required for the treatment of an injury or disease and there is a doctor’s approval, then it will be covered under Ayushman Yojana.
Dental treatment is not covered under Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana. However, if bone-related treatment is required due to an accident or injury, tumor or cyst, then you will get medical cover.

IVF-related treatment – Ayushman Card will not be valid for IVF procedure. Any type of assisted reproductive technology and treatment for infertility problems is not covered under this scheme.

Ayushman Card will not be valid for any other treatment – Any type of vaccination or preventive treatment. Surgery to maintain youth. Cosmetic surgery or cosmetic surgery. Laser tattoo removal procedure. Obesity reduction surgery. Neck lift surgery. Nose surgery. Situations where the patient is being kept alive only by medical devices.
