BPL Ration Card: Did you get a text on your phone about removing your name from the BPL list? No need to stress! The Haryana government is taking action against those who misuse government programs by creating fake BPL cards. They’ve already taken 1,609 names off the BPL list and are now urging anyone who was incorrectly added to get their names removed right away. If not, they could face legal consequences.
Government is asking for income declarations to be corrected
In Haryana, there are around 5,196,380 families classified as BPL, and 1,609 of those have been removed. Residents are receiving messages to update their income details in their Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP). The government plans to file FIRs against anyone found with fake BPL cards after April 20. So, if you’ve been benefiting from government schemes with a fake BPL card or if you have a BPL ration card but earn over Rs 1,80,000 a year, make sure to fix that immediately. The latest news is that the government is asking for income declarations to be corrected, but they haven’t yet warned anyone to surrender their BPL ration card. However, all BPL cardholders are being asked to update their income, and a new BPL list will be created based on this updated information.
If you need to update your income, then do this
To update your income, head over to the ‘Mera Parivar’ portal if you’re already on the BPL list. If your family’s annual income exceeds Rs 1,80,000, you need to update it right away.
How you can apply
If you want to voluntarily surrender your BPL ration card or remove your name from the list, you can apply at your local food and supply department. You can also submit an application online, but the link for that isn’t active at the moment.
