Amul Price Cut- Big news for common people of India. India’s renowned dairy company, Amul, announced a major relief on Saturday. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells its products under the Amul brand, announced price reductions on more than 700 product packs. This decision was taken to pass on the benefits of the GST rate cut to consumers.
The new prices will be applicable from September 22. GCMMF said in its statement that these new prices will be effective from September 22, 2025. The price reduction has been done in several categories like ghee, butter, ice cream, bakery products and frozen snacks.
New prices of key products
The price of basic ghee has been reduced by Rs 40 per litre and will now be available for Rs 610 per litre.
Butter (100 grams) will now cost Rs 58, up from Rs 62 earlier.
The price of processed cheese block (1 kg) has been reduced by Rs 30. It will now be available for Rs 545.
The price of Frozen Paneer (200 grams) has been reduced from Rs 99 to Rs 95.
Which products will be affected?
The reduction will be applicable in categories like ghee, butter, milk (UHT), ice cream, cheese, paneer, chocolates, bakery items, frozen snacks, condensed milk, peanut spread and malt-based drinks. Amul believes this price reduction will boost consumption, especially of products like ice cream, cheese, and butter, as per capita consumption of these items remains low in India. This could boost both the company’s sales and turnover.
Farmers will also benefit
GCMMF, a cooperative of 3.6 million farmers, says this move will not only bring relief to consumers but will also benefit both farmers’ income and the company’s growth. Earlier, Mother Dairy had also announced reduction in prices of some of its products from September 22.
