Allowances Hike: There is positive news for 750,000 government workers in Madhya Pradesh. Allowances will rise starting in April. The state government led by Mohan Yadav has declared that employees will receive allowances according to the 7th Pay Commission starting from April 1, 2025. At present, workers are receiving allowances according to the 6th Pay Commission.
Each sector received a benefit
Actually, on March 12, the Mohan administration unveiled the complete budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, where each sector received a benefit. In this context, Finance Minister Jagdish Devda also revealed a significant alteration in employee allowances. Finance Minister Jagdish Devda has declared that starting April 1, 2025, employees will receive allowances according to the 7th Pay Commission. Nonetheless, no decision was made about the rise in the dearness allowance.
Hike in allowances
Currently, allowances like House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travelling Allowance (TA), Uniform Allowance, and Vehicle Allowance are provided to officers in Madhya Pradesh following the Sixth Pay Commission’s recommendations. Starting in April, these allowances will be disbursed according to the suggestions of the Seventh Pay Commission.
The different benefits commonly provided to government employees consist of disability allowance, house rent allowance, secretariat allowance, tribal area allowance, travel allowance, risk allowance, daily allowance, diet allowance for police officers, uniform cleaning allowance, and tailoring allowance. The 7th Pay Commission states that these allowances will be updated, resulting in greater advantages for the employees.
Finance Minister Jagdish Devda has declared that the pension paperwork for employees and all pension-related tasks will be conducted online. Employee organizations have also welcomed this development. This will protect retired workers from difficulties everywhere.
A committee will be established to evaluate the procedure for executing the Unified Pension Scheme for government workers.
