Big Update on Aadhaar for Children
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has shared a new update about Aadhaar cards for children. The ministry said that UIDAI has now made it mandatory to update biometric details for all children who have turned 7 years old.
UIDAI said that it is important to update a child’s biometric details in Aadhaar after they turn 7. This rule is already a part of the Aadhaar process and must be followed.
This Rule is Now Important for Every Child
The ministry said that parents or guardians can go to any Aadhaar service center or authorized Aadhaar center to update their child’s details.
UIDAI said that children who are 7 years old and have not yet updated their biometric data must do it soon. This is called Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU).
The update is easy. Just visit the nearest Aadhaar center with the required documents.
