Aadhaar Linking vs Aadhaar Seeding- Big news for Aadhaar Card holders. Many people often get confused between Aadhaar linking and Aadhaar seeding. But these two are actually different processes. Especially when it comes to Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). EPFO is a common practice when it comes to availing benefits from organisations like the Government of India. It is important to understand the difference between the two to ensure seamless access to various government benefits and services.
In March this year, EPFO had explained the difference between Aadhaar linking and Aadhaar seeding through a post on social media platform X. Also, he said in the post, “Do not get confused between Aadhaar linking and Aadhaar seeding. Understand the difference and ensure your Aadhaar seeding to avoid missing out on the benefits provided by EPFO.”
What is Aadhaar linking?
Aadhaar linking refers to the process of linking your Aadhaar number to a particular account or service, such as your bank account, EPF account, or PAN card for KYC and identity requirements. Aadhaar can be linked to multiple bank accounts, but it is not necessary to verify or authenticate your details with the concerned organization.
What is Aadhaar seeding?
On the other hand, Aadhaar seeding is a more detailed process that involves validating and authenticating your Aadhaar details with an organisation’s database, such as the EPFO. This ensures that your Aadhaar information matches the records held by the organisation, allowing you to receive direct benefits, subsidies and seamless transactions. Individuals can link only one bank account with their Aadhaar at a time.
