Aadhaar History – Is Your Aadhaar Being Misused? Check Usage From Home

Aadhaar Authentication History: Today, the first thing we often need for nearly every significant task is our Aadhaar number. Whether it’s for KYC at a bank, a government scheme, a mobile SIM, or app verification, Aadhaar has become more than just our identity; it’s our digital key. But this brings up a crucial question: Do you really know how your Aadhaar is being used?

If you don’t, this oversight could be expensive. If your Aadhaar details end up in the wrong hands, you might find yourself involved in activities you weren’t even aware of. Fortunately, UIDAI has set up a system that lets you check, right from your home, in just a few minutes, when, where, and for what purpose your Aadhaar was utilized.

How can you find out where your Aadhaar was used?

The UIDAI website features a tool called Aadhaar Authentication History. This tool functions much like your mobile phone’s call history. It reveals when, on what date, and for what type of verification your Aadhaar was used in recent months. This log includes authentications related to banks, government agencies, or other services.

To check this, start by visiting the official UIDAI website and selecting the Aadhaar Authentication History option. Input your 12-digit Aadhaar number along with the security code shown on the screen. After that, click Send OTP. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Once you enter the OTP, your complete history will be displayed on the screen.

What should you do if you spot an incorrect entry?

If you check your history and see a record you didn’t create, that’s a clear indication that your Aadhaar has been misused. Waiting in such situations can be harmful. The first thing you need to do is notify UIDAI immediately. You can file a complaint by calling the toll-free number 1947.

You can also email help@uidai.gov.in with your full complaint details. The UIDAI website also offers an online complaint option, where you can file your complaint step-by-step. If necessary, you can also temporarily lock your biometrics to prevent further verification without your permission.
