There is good news for the villagers. Soon, they will get the facility to make or update their Aadhaar cards in the village Panchayat Secretariat. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given permission to the Panchayati Raj Department to start Aadhaar services in Panchayat Secretariats. The service will begin in all Panchayat Secretariats in a phased manner.
Once Aadhaar services start in Gram Panchayat Secretariats, villagers will not have to go to cities to get their Aadhaar made or updated. They will also not need to search for Jan Seva Kendras. With full convenience, villagers can visit the Panchayat Secretariat and get Aadhaar-related services by paying the fixed fee.
Aadhaar Services to Start in Panchayats from August 11

In the first phase, the service will start in around 2,500 Gram Panchayats. Later, it will be expanded step-by-step to all 57,691 Gram Panchayats.

This service will be launched with the help of banks and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). A budget will also be arranged for this work. Some part of the fixed fee collected from villagers will be given as an incentive to Panchayat assistants who help in Aadhaar services.
