In India, the Aadhaar card is one of the most important documents used for various services. More than 90% of the Indian population has an Aadhaar card. It is required for opening bank accounts, getting mobile connections, and many other purposes. However, sometimes incorrect information is entered in the Aadhaar card, which can cause inconvenience. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) allows users to correct such errors, but there are certain rules about how many times these changes can be made.
How Many Times Can You Update Your Aadhaar Card?
Certain details in your Aadhaar card can only be corrected once. These include:
1. Date of Birth
If your date of birth is incorrect on your Aadhaar card, you can request a correction, but it can only be updated once.
2. Gender
If your gender is listed incorrectly, you can change it only once.
These updates can be done through UIDAI, but after the first correction, no further changes will be allowed for these details.
