With the beginning of November, several important changes related to the common citizens have been implemented in the country. The most significant change has been made by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) to the Aadhaar services. The government claims that these new rules will increase transparency, speed, and convenience in Aadhaar update services. Now, citizens will be able to make many important changes related to their Aadhaar card online, significantly reducing the need to visit Aadhaar centers.
According to the new rules, Aadhaar card holders will be able to update their name, mobile number, date of birth, and address online from anywhere. Previously, updating these details required multiple visits to Aadhaar centers. UIDAI says these changes will provide greater convenience to the public and make services more digital and secure.

Changes in Aadhaar Service Fees
UIDAI has also revised the fees for Aadhaar services. Now, biometric updates such as fingerprint, iris scan, and photo will cost ₹125, up from ₹100 previously. Similarly, demographic updates, such as changing your name, address, date of birth, or mobile number, will now cost ₹75. Previously, this fee was ₹50. UIDAI’s rationale for the fee increase is that it is improving the quality and security of services.
Aadhaar-PAN linking will now be mandatory
The government has also clarified that the deadline for linking your Aadhaar and PAN is December 31, 2025. Failure to do so within the stipulated timeframe will result in your PAN card being deemed inactive from January 1, 2026. Consequently, you will not be able to complete any tax-related transactions or financial transactions using your PAN. Therefore, those who have not yet linked their Aadhaar with their PAN are advised to complete this process promptly.

Update your Aadhaar from home
The demographic update process is now available entirely online. You must visit the MyAadhaar portal and log in using an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Keep in mind that your mobile number must be updated on your Aadhaar card to complete this process. This change aligns with UIDAI’s mission to provide digital convenience to citizens and ensure easy access to government services.
