Built a thriving cottage industry that supports their livelihood

Having resided in the Rudrur mandal center of Nizamabad district for the past three decades, Deepa and Ravi Kumar have built a thriving cottage industry that supports their livelihood. They specialize in producing an array of snacks, including marukulu, bongulu, tellamurugulu, putnalu, kara, and bondi, which they sell to local grocery stores. To facilitate their operations, they acquired loans to invest in essential machinery, such as packing and flour mixing machines, allowing them to grow incrementally. Presently, their monthly turnover reaches impressive figures.

Loan of Rs 10 lakhs

Deepa recounted that initially, there was resistance to her inclusion in the women’s group. However, after joining the Dwakra Group, she secured a loan of Rs 10,000 in 2003, which they have repaid consistently each month. Today, they have taken out a loan of 10 lakhs to expand their operations and are producing a significant volume of food items, offering a three-month guarantee on their products.
