New Delhi: All central employees and pensioners are now eagerly waiting for the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. The government constituted it in January but has not yet done so. The government is expected to constitute the 8th Pay Commission in April. The implementation process will start only after its formation.
According to this, the 8th Pay Commission can be implemented by January 1, 2026. This will result in a bumper increase in the salaries of central employees. More than one crore employees and pensioners will benefit from the new Pay Commission. However, the date of implementation of the 8th Pay Commission has not yet been officially announced. Such a claim is being made in media reports.

How much will the salary of the employees increase?
With the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, there will be a bumper increase in the salary of central employees. By the way, the wage calculation will be based on the fitment factor. As soon as the 8th Pay Commission is implemented, the fitment factor is expected to be between 1.92 and 2.86. If this happens, the employees’ basic salary will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 51000 directly.
However, it has not been decided yet how much the fitment factor will be. The central government implements a new pay commission every ten years. The 7th Pay Commission was formed in 2014, which was implemented two years later, i.e. in 2016. On December 31, 2025, the 7th Pay Commission will complete ten years.
How did the salary increase in the 7th Pay Commission?
The employees’ salary jumped like a leopard as soon as the 7th Pay Commission was implemented. The fitment factor was increased by 2.57 times. Due to this, the minimum wage increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000 directly. According to this, a three-fold increase was made, a significant gift. The fitment factor is multiplied by the basic salary to determine the new salary.
When will the DA increase?
The Modi government can increase the DA of central employees by up to 2 percent. After this, the DA will increase to 55 percent, increasing the salary substantially. At present, central employees are getting the benefit of 53 percent DA. The rates of DA, which will increase now, will be implemented from January 1, 2025. Earlier, the DA was increased in October.
