New Variant and Price
The variants of Thar have now been given new names. The trims earlier known as AX Opt and LX have now become AXT and LXT. The entry level 1.5-litre Diesel RWD variant is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, while the LXT variant of the same engine is priced at Rs 12.19 lakh. The 2.2-litre Diesel 4WD variant comes with LXT manual priced at Rs 15.49 lakh and automatic priced at Rs 16.99 lakh.
Turbo-petrol lovers are also offered with an option for RWD automatic priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, 4WD manual priced at Rs 14.69 lakh and 4WD automatic priced at Rs 16.25 lakh. Thus, buyers have a choice for everything from city driving to off-road thrills.

Exterior
If you look at the Thar Facelift at first glance, it might not seem like much of a difference, but upon closer inspection, the subtle updates are clearly visible. The grille is now body coloured and the silver inserts on the bumpers have been brought back, giving the front of the SUV a fresher look. However, the headlights are still halogen and this is where LED lights could have given the SUV a more premium look.
There are no major changes in the side profile and the SUV looks just as bold with its iconic 18 inch gun metal grey alloy wheels. The rear design is also quite familiar, but now the rear camera is fitted in the spare wheel hub, similar to what Mahindra provided in the Thar Roxx.
Interior
The bold THAR branding further strengthens the SUV’s identity. The steering wheel is now similar to other premium Mahindra SUVs, and the biggest update is the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system is equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected car tech, which will appeal to tech lovers.
Mahindra has also made ergonomic improvements inside the SUV. The power window switches are now located on the doors, making usability easier. The cupholders have also been redesigned, and the automatic variants get a dead pedal, further enhancing comfort on long drives.

Features
The 2025 Thar Facelift now comes with more features than before. Modern features like rear wiper and washer, rear AC vents and Type-C USB ports have been added to it. The existing manual AC, steering mounted controls, cruise control, six speaker sound system and keyless entry have also been retained.
The Thar is also second to none in terms of safety. It now includes a rear parking camera. Apart from this, safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, built-in roll cage and TPMS are also present.

Engine
Mahindra has not made any changes to the engines, which means the performance remains the same strong factor that makes the Thar special. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces 150 PS of power and 300 to 320 Nm of torque.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 117 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre diesel engine produces 132 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, and buyers can choose between RWD and 4WD.
