Bajaj Adventure Bike – Has the 250cc Xpulse 210 Rival Finally Arrived After 30 Years?

Bajaj Adventure Bike 2026: The market for adventure bikes in India is no longer as niche as it once was. From daily city commutes to weekend rides on hilly terrain, many bikers now want motorcycles that can handle both environments with ease. Recognising this evolving market, Bajaj Auto is preparing to launch a new adventure bike under its own brand after nearly three decades.

The company’s Brazilian operations have confirmed that the new on-road/off-road motorcycle will be unveiled before the end of 2026. Interestingly, test mules of the bike have already been spotted in India. With a 250cc engine, off-road hardware, and a price tag of approximately ₹1.5–2 lakh, it could emerge as a rival to the Hero Xpulse 210.

Adventure Segment

For Bajaj, this bike will not merely be another new model based on the Pulsar. Historically, the company launched the ‘SX Enduro’ in 1995; since then, however, no motorcycle bearing the Bajaj badge has truly qualified as a dedicated dual-purpose or adventure bike.

250cc Engine

Details regarding the new bike’s engine have not yet been revealed. However, observations of the test mule suggest that Bajaj might be developing a lightweight, easy-to-handle motorcycle rather than a larger 350cc or 400cc adventure bike.

The strongest speculation points to the 249cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine found in the Pulsar N250. In the N250, this engine produces 24.5 PS of power and 21.5 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. If Bajaj uses this engine in the new adventure bike, it might tweak the gearing and engine tuning to offer better control at lower speeds.

Off-road Design

Images of the test bike provide significant clues about its hardware. The motorcycle features a high-mounted front beak, fork gaiters, an upswept exhaust, and a long, single-piece seat. It also sports wire-spoke wheels, expected to come in a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear configuration.

In terms of suspension, it appears to be equipped with long-travel conventional telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Disc brakes are likely to be provided on both wheels. Switchable ABS is also expected, offering better control on loose soil or gravel tracks.

Price

The launch of the new Bajaj adventure bike in Brazil has been confirmed for before the end of 2026, with company officials hinting at an arrival prior to Christmas. While expectations for an Indian launch are strong, Bajaj has not yet announced an official launch date for the country.

Based on its specifications, the ex-showroom price could range between ₹1.5 lakh and ₹2 lakh. In this price bracket, it could directly compete with the Hero Xpulse 210.
